NFL Betting – Gabbert, McCoy Look To Show Their Stuff In Cleveland This Sunday

While the fans for some NFL teams have made it no secret they would prefer to “Suck for Luck”, the starting quarterbacks for two of the worst teams in the AFC are planning on holding on their jobs even after Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck is drafted next year. The Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns have a combined 6-12 record with only two teams below them in the AFC standings, but heading in to this weekend a win for either Blaine Gabbert or Colt McCoy will be another step in the right direction for two young quarterbacks looking to establish themselves as legitimate starters.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cleveland Browns

Sunday, 1:00 PM ET

While McCoy has been better than Gabbert this sports betting season, he does have an extra year of experience on the rookie and arguably a better overall supporting cast. But with Peyton Hillis likely out another week and the Browns banged up, they could be somewhat vulnerable against the Jaguars. Cleveland ranks first in the NFL in overall pass defense, but just 30th against the run, and if running back Maurice Jones Drew gets going it is a scary prospect. Gabbert hasn’t been asked to do too much so far but he has shown signs that he is making pay head progress. While it won’t have any effect on the postseason outlook, this game will be significant as a measuring stick for both teams, and should make for a good atmosphere.
